Arkansas Heritage Grant Awarded to Faubus House Laser Scanning Team!

An exciting development in the preservation of the Faubus House in Huntsville, Arkansas: the Department of Arkansas Heritage just awarded an Arkansas Heritage Grant to a team of architecture professionals in northwest Arkansas who will use the funds to conduct a laser scan of the house to aid in its digital preservation. Kenneth and Chloe Hiley, owners of the firm Catalpa Architects PLLC in Fayetteville plan to complete the work for the grant from August to December 2024. In Spring 2025, the team will host the scan on our website as a 3D interactive tour for all to enjoy.

Please stay tuned for more information and details. The team will elaborate on their scanning process in detail in later news posts, as well as at in-person public talks at area libraries.

This program was made possible in part by a grant from the Division of Arkansas Heritage, funded by your 1/8 cent conservation tax, Amendment 75.
